Wonder Woman Estimated To Have Strong Opening

Minus any “big” Hollywood names and being the first solo female superhero movie to come out of either DC or Marvel, the Wonder Woman movie is projected to have a strong opening.

It’s being said that Wonder Woman could open to around $80 million, which isn’t a bad number by any means as it would be a better opening than Marvel’s Captain America, Thor, Ant-Man, and pretty much on par with Doctor Strange and Fox’s Logan.

Wonder Woman isn’t front-loaded with a gazillion superheroes and big-named actors like many of the Avengers movies, Captain America: Civil War, Batman vs. Superman or even Suicide Squad, so to compare any of those films to Wonder Woman is pretty much asinine (lol).

What will make or break Wonder Woman is basically whether or not it’s a good movie.  I could see Wonder Woman going the route of Man of Steel and opening strong, but if it’s disliked the way Man of Steel was buy at least half the audience, it will nosedive pretty quick. Likewise, if Wonder Woman is said to be rather good, it should hold steady for a while.

I think if Wonder Woman finishes anywhere near north of $500 million it’s considered a big success.

“Wonder Woman” has a June 2, 2017 release directed by Patty Jenkins starring Gal Gadot, Chris Pine, Robin Wright, Connie Nielsen, David Thewlis, Danny Huston, Elena Anaya, Ewen Bremner, and Saïd Taghmaoui .

Synopsis:

Wonder Woman hits movie theaters around the world next summer when Gal Gadot returns as the title character in the epic action adventure from director Patty Jenkins. Before she was Wonder Woman, she was Diana, princess of the Amazons, trained to be an unconquerable warrior. Raised on a sheltered island paradise, when an American pilot crashes on their shores and tells of a massive conflict raging in the outside world, Diana leaves her home, convinced she can stop the threat. Fighting alongside man in a war to end all wars, Diana will discover her full powers…and her true destiny.
