Ryan Reynolds To Star In Clue Movie; Signs First-Look Deal Wth Fox Studios

Ryan Reynolds is sticking with Fox Studios and vice versa as it’s learned the Deadpool actor has signed a three-year first-look deal, with the first project being a live-action adaptation of the Clue board game.

The new Clue movie is being written by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, the writing team behind Deadpool.

Ryan Reynolds will also service as producer on the Clue movie as will Hasbro’s All Spark Pictures.

It’s noted the three-year deal keeps Ryan Reynolds in the Fox fold well into the merger with Disney that is expected to take 12 to 18 months.

Reynolds also has Deadpool 2 coming out this May, and there are plans for more Deadpool and X-Force films, though those might depend on what happens with the Disney merger.

A Clue movie was made back in 1985 starring Tim Curry, Madeline Kahn and Christopher Lloyd, and an attempt at a remake back in 2008 didn’t get off the ground.

Clue is a mystery murder who-done-it game where the players play as the eccentric characters and try to figure out who committed the murder with which weapon in what room.
