Ahead of tomorrowâs Marvelâs Agents of SHIELD panel at the NYCC, itâs revealed fan-favorite actress Natalia Cordova-Buckley gets bumped up to a series regular for Season 5.
âNatalia is a powerhouse in her work and in her daily life, and she has imbued one of our favorite characters with her natural strength and humor,â S.H.I.E.L.D.executive producers Jed Whedon, Maurissa Tancharoen, and Jeffrey Bell told Deadline in a statement regarding Cordova-Buckley and her role as Elena âYo-Yoâ Rodriguez. âNatalia was instantly a part of the S.H.I.E.L.D. family the first day she walked onto set, and weâre happy sheâs now an official member of the S.H.I.E.L.D. team.â
Elena âYo-Yoâ Rodriguez is an Inhuman with the ability of super speed and was first introduced last year during Season 3âs âBouncing Backâ episode and was also featured on the Agents of SHIELD 6-episode Slingshot short (watch the first part below).
