Henry Cavill Talks Playing Superman In Man Of Steel “I Don’t Let The Pressure Get To Me”

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:2875:]]Within hours – minutes most likely – of the release of the pair of Man of Steel trailers, Superman fans had already gone and edited in the classic John Williams music score from the movies that featured Christopher Reeve.

So you can only imagine what Zack Snyder’s new Superman, Henry Cavill, must be feeling about donning the red and blue next June.

Henry Cavill recently spoke with Cineplex and mentioned just that, but credit to Cavill, he says he’s only focusing on doing Superman right.

“It’s important to do the role justice,” new Superman to be, Henry Cavill, said. “There are a lot of people relying on me to do this well. I gladly accept that responsibility, and it’s a great one to have because it’s a wonderful opportunity. I don’t let the pressure get to me because it’s going to hinder my performance and, therefore, let people down. So I choose to ignore the pressure side of it and focus doing justice to Superman.”

Henry Cavill also reiterated what we have been hearing since Zack Snyder was first announced as director, that their Superman will be relatable.

“What I can say is that it’s a modernization of the character and a very realistic view of one, obviously very fantastic individual. It’s an unreal situation, but approached from a very practical viewpoint. We wanted to make the character easy to identify with.”

Before Henry Cavill takes to the skies as Superman, you can catch his new spy thriller, The Cold Light Of Day, also starring Bruce Willis and Sigourney Weaver, in theaters this week.
