Marvel’s Agents Of SHIELD Suffers Series Ratings Low

With a move to Friday nights and reportedly ABC not wanting to have green lit Season 5, that might be all she wrote for Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD as now the series suffers from a series ratings low.

Friday’s third episode of Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD Season 5 saw 1.93 million viewers tune in – which is even less than Inhumans (1.95 million) – with the episode getting a 0.5 rating.

The numbers mark a decline of 24 percent in terms of viewership from its two-hour premiere episode and a 28 percent drop in rating.

I previously put it out there that this is the last season of Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD, with my reasoning mainly being due to Samuel L. Jackson returning to the MCU for the Captain Marvel movie and an Agent Jimmy Woo is slated for the Ant-Man and the Wasp film (in addition ABC also recently passed on Marvel TV’s New Warriors comedy series, with ABC and Marvel TV being both owned by Disney).

Nick Fury hasn’t been seen since Avengers 2, and Kevin Feige killed off SHIELD in Captain America: The Winter Soldier.

The Marvel movies have nothing to do with Marvel TV and are two completely separate companies at Disney, with the two companies not getting along (or at least their bosses).

We can guess now with Agents of SHIELD in its final season, that Kevin Feige is letting SHIELD return to the MCU in some for or another.

I’ll also add the two-hour premiere of Agents of SHIELD Season 5 wasn’t exactly thrilling and was a step down from last season’s excellent storyline. The “big” reveal that Quake destroyed the Earth came off as rather “meh” in my opinion (I have yet to see last night’s episode).
