Back in January saw Sterling K. Brown mention that he wants to play Green Lantern John Stewart.
“Dear powers that be,” Brown posted on Twitter. “If you are looking for someone to play John Stewart, I humbly submit my name.”
Now Sterling K. Brown is back at it as he tells EW.com more about wanting to play Green Lantern.
“Let me say that the campaign has never been officially launched. That’s just Brown sending out a tweet innocuously in the middle of the night after he recognized that the role needed to be cast. Like ‘Hey, I like Green Lantern, give it a shot.’ No further updates on the development of the Green Lantern pursuit, but I’m still very much interested and intrigued in playing that role.”
As noted, Green Lantern John Stewart has yet to be cast (as does Hal Jordan), but it has been said the planned Green Lantern Corps movie will be a buddy space cop flick featuring the two characters. A member of the Green Lantern Corps is also speculated for the Justice League movie.
Sterling K. Brown has roles in the upcoming Shane Black Predator movie, Marvel’s Black Panther and returns for This Is Us Season 2.
