With Green Lantern getting rebooted for the DCEU, it’s been said to be a buddy cop movie starring Hal Jordan and John Stewart.
We actually got a Green Lantern tease in the Justice League movie, so we see plans seem to be moving forward.
So who should play Green Lantern?
A new name surfaces from a writer on the 2011 Ryan Reynolds Green Lantern flick, as Michael Green (also known for Logan) recommends Ricky Whittle (who stars in American Gods written by Green):
I’ll probably get angry texts if I don’t say what’s in my heart which is that Ricky Whittle would make a fantastic John Stewart.
Michael Green even offers that the writers on Green Lantern had lots of ideas for further movies (note: the writers on the Green Lantern movie aren’t to blame for its failure):
I will say that my partners on Green Lantern, Gregg Berlanti and Marc Guggenheim, spent a lot of time talking about all the potential for subsequent Green Lantern films, and I still love every idea that we discussed. I don’t think they will ever come to fruition, not as we imagined them I don’t think. If there’s a Green Lantern Corps to be done it will be all new fresh thinking.
Green Lantern Corps has been said to be in the works for a 2020 release written by David S. Goyer.
