Looks Like Marvel Won’t Be Mine In 2017

February saw Marvel Comics release their Alex Ross “Generations” teaser promptly featuring Richard Rider Nova.

Last week saw the Generations titles revealed with no mention of Nova.

Now at this weekend’s C2E2, Marvel released a teaser with a bunch of characters stating, “You’ll be saying Make Mine Marvel in 2017,” with no Nova.

This week also saw the cancellation of the fourth, fifth or sixth relaunch of NINO (Nova in Name Only), which saw Tom Brevoort take blame for:

…please don’t think I am blaming the audience for the book being cancelled–no one is under any obligation to buy our books. On the contrary, we are under an obligation to make books you will want to buy, so feel free to lay the blame for the cancellation on me.

The former editor pointed out that his Richard Rider Nova series sold a “rock solid” 35k (and I’ll point out that’s more than twice what his replacement gets):

Every issue there were about 35,000 fans who read every issue of NOVA and GUARDIANS and every issue of every [limited series] that was a part of all of our events. They helped spread the word and they were there along for the ride and never went away, and without them the books would’ve never even existed; there would be no film without those loyal readers.

So where’s Richard Rider Nova, Marvel?
