Good news for fans of the two space series that recently debuted on SyFy as the network has renewed season 2 for both Killjoys and Dark Matter.
A 10-episode second season is in store for Killjoys, and Dark Matter gets 13 episodes for its Season 2, both of which will premiere in 2016.
Killjoys averaged 1.5 million viewers in its first season and is from the producers of Orphan Black (Temple Street Productions) and the creator of Lost Girl (Michelle Lovretta); Killjoys follows a fun-loving, hard living trio of interplanetary bounty hunters sworn to remain impartial as they chase deadly warrants throughout the Quad, a distant system on the brink of a bloody, multiplanetary class war. The series stars Hannah John-Kamen, Aaron Ashmore, and Luke Macfarlane.
Dark Matter averaged 1.8 million viewers in its first season and follows the crew of a derelict spaceship awakened from stasis with no memories of who they are or how they got on board. Facing threats at every turn, they have to work together to survive a voyage charged with vengeance, betrayal and hidden secrets. Dark Matter is based on the graphic novel Dark Matter by Joseph Mallozzi and Paul Millie (of the Stargate franchise). The cast includes: Zoie Palmer (Lost Girl), Roger Cross (The Strain), Marc Bendavid (Bitten), Anthony Lemke (White House Down), Melissa O’Neil (Les Miserables), Joelle Ferland (Twilight), Alex Mallari, Jr (Robocop).
