Transformers: The Last Knight Trailer: Unicron, Bad Optimus & Matrix Of Leadership?

So whose got The Touch in Transformers: The Last Knight?

My first impression upon viewing the new Transformers: The Last Knight trailer is that it’s borrowing from the G1 Transformers animated series and movie.

We see what looks to be a dead/deactivated Optimus Prime floating in space in the trailer:

And then we see a seemingly bad Optimus Prime battling Bumblebee:

I had flashbacks to the death and return of Optimus Prime episodes which saw the Quintessons bring back Optimus Prime to life as a bad guy. Hey?! Could we see the Quintessons in Transformers: The Last Knight? I’d be down with that.

Did we also get a peek at Unicron in Transformers: The Last Knight? We see what looks to be some sort of planet-eater. My first guess was that it might be Unicron, who has been rumored to be a part of the fifth Transformers movie for years.

We also see what looks to be the Matrix of Leadership.

I believe in Revenge of the Fallen they used the Matrix or some sort of version of it, which was different than the cartoon, but here it looks a lot like the original from the G1 toon and movie.

Maybe it activates Unicron? Bay went sort of old school with TMNT 2, maybe he is taking a similar approach with T5?
