14 Transformers Stories In Development; Michael Bay Leaving After Last Knight

While particpating in a preview event in London, director Michael Bay let it be known that Transformers: The Last Knight will be his last movie.

Yahoo reports Michael Bay, who was seen sporting a Boba Fett Star Wars shirt, stated he wants Transformers: The Last Knight to be his swan song, which will launch the Transformers universe.

It’s reported Bay said fourteen stories have come out of the Transformers writers room. Note: This doesn’t mean fourteen new Transformers movies are happening, just that fourteen ideas are being discussed.

One of those ideas which is becoming a movie is the Bumblebee spinoff. It’s also been said a possible animated Transformers Cybertron origin movie is in the works, but not much has been said about it for a while. The Bumblebee movie is being directed by Travis Knight for a June 8, 2018 release.

New Transformers: The Last Knight footage was also shown at the London preview:

Arthurian prologue (possibly featuring Stanley Tucci as Merlin), scenes including Isabela Moner’s Izabella and Canopy, plus Mark Wahlberg’s Cade Yeager who gets spirited away to Britain by Anthony Hopkins’ Transformer/manservant Cogburn.

Transfomers: The Last Knight hits June 23rd.
