It was just announced that Warner Bros. is planning on doing a Justice League movie in 2013, and now we are finding out some details including that Zack Snyder’s Batman and Superman will be separate and not a part of the JL movie.
We knew that Christopher Nolan’s Batman, of the Dark Knight series of movies, was not going to be a part of the new Justice League, as it was announced Nolan would be on as producer reinventing Batman (which most likely means without Christian Bale).
What we didn’t know is that Zack Snyder’s Superman would have zip to do with it.
HeyUGuys, at the Sucker Punch premier in the UK, asked Zack Snyder how his Superman would fit into the Justice League movie; Snyder replied — it didn’t.
“It doesn’t. Like what Chris Nolan is doing, and what I’m doing with Superman, what they’ll do with Justice League will be its own thing, with its own Batman and own Superman. We’ll be over here with our movie. They’ll kinda get to do it twice, which is kinda cool,” stated Snyder.
Kinda cool?
Come again?
Across the street, over at the Marvel Studios, we see Iron Man, Thor and Captain America – all leading to this huge movie known as The Avengers.
Meanwhile, Warner Bros. has to “reinvent” Batman a year after The Dark Knight Rises concludes – and use a different Superman when Snyder reboots him a year prior to JL, as well? What about Ryan Reynolds and Green Lantern?
I’m hoping Snyder just meant that his movie is not directly involved with Justice League, but that the studio will be using Henry Cavill. It will be ridiculous if there are two different versions of Superman – especially considering – if Snyder’s Superman movie warrants sequels.
“With it’s own Batman and own Superman.”
Oh, boy.
