‘Doctor Strange’ 2 Art Teases Multiverse, Scarlet Witch, Wong, America Chavez

Doctor Strange 2 comic book-inspired promo art given to the crew by Marvel Studios features the Sorcerer Supreme along with the Scarlet Witch, Wong, and America Chavez.

“Once again, thanks to your incredibly hard work, patience and contribution to what is going to be an amazing Film!” states the accompanying note which is signed by Kevin Feige, director Sam Raimi, Richie Palmer, and Jamie Lengyel.

Checking out the art (see below) possibly reveals details for the movie as the art features new costumes, Doctor Strange is shown with the Eye of the Agamotto which housed the Time Stone that was destroyed in The Avengers: Endgame, and as noted, it seems to confirm Doctor Strange will enlist the aid of America Chavez, aka Miss America, to travel the Multiverse, who in the comics has the power to open star-shaped holes in reality, allowing her and her teammates to travel through the multiverse and into other realities.

Kevin Feige also previously confirmed the movie connects to Spider-Man: No Way Home (though that remains to be seen).

“Elizabeth Olsen is currently in London right now. She is shooting the film Doctor Strange: In The Multiverse of Madness with director Sam Raimi, star Benedict Cumberbatch and the rest of the cast including Benedict Wong, Rachel McAdams, and Chiwetel Ejiofor, and joining them is a new fan-favorite character from the comics, America Chavez, played by Xochitl Gomez,” said Feige at December’s Disney Investor Day event. “This film hits theaters March 25, 2022, and we are really pushing the boundaries of storytelling with this thrilling, scary, mind-bending adventure. Not only will Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness connect directly to the events of WandaVision, but it will also connect to the events of our new Spider-Man film coming to theaters December 2021.”

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness has a March 25, 2022 release.
