Mortal Kombat Casts Scorpion and Shang Tsung

The James Wan produced Mortal Kombat reboot continues casting as actors are made known for both Scorpion and Shang Tsung, respectively.

Playing the role of Scorpion is Hiroyuki Sanada, who is known for HBO’s Westworld, Akihiko in The Avengers: Endgame and who has a role in Zack Snyder’s Army of the Dead.

The role of Shang Tsung goes to Chin Han who is known for Skyscraper and played Lau in Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight.

The pair join the recent casting news that includes Jessica McNamee as Sonya Blade; Josh Lawson as Kano; Lewis Tan as a mystery character; The Raid actor Joe Taslim is playing Sub-Zero; Ludi Lin is Liu Kang; Supergirl‘s Jimmy Olsen, Mehcad Brooks, is playing Jackson “Jax” Briggs; Tadanobu Asano is Raiden, and newcomer Sisi Stringer is playing Mileena.

Mortal Kombat reboot underway

Plot details have yet to be revealed, but the Mortal Kombat reboot will probably be similar to the popular video game franchise that has sold hundreds of millions of copies. It has also been confirmed the flick will feature Fatalities.

Mortal Kombat has a March 5, 2021 release date with Simon McQuoid on as director, Todd Garner will also produce, with Larry Kasanoff, E. Bennett Walsh, Michael Clear, and Sean Robins executive producing.
