Gen V Season 2 Filming Delayed Following Actor’s Death

Filming on Season 2 of The Boys spinoff, Gen V, that streams on Prime Video has been delayed following the death of actor Chance Perdomo at the age of 27.

The actor died following a motorcycle accident on Friday in Upstate New York while travelling back to Toronto to film the second season. Not a lot of details are known but it is reported no other individuals are said to have been involved in the crash.

“His passion for the arts and insatiable appetite for life was felt by all who knew him, and his warmth will carry on in those who he loved dearest. We ask you to please respect the family’s wish for privacy as they mourn the loss of their beloved son and brother,” said a statement from Perdomo’s family and representatives released on social media.

Chance Perdomo played Andre Anderson on Gen V, the son of Polarity, and also best friend of Golden Boy, who had the powers to manipulate magneticism.

“We can’t quite wrap our heads around this. For those of us who knew him and worked with him, Chance was always charming and smiling, an enthusiastic force of nature, an incredibly talented performer, and more than anything else, just a very kind, lovely person. Even writing about him in the past tense doesn’t make sense. We are so sorry for Chance’s family, and we are grieving the loss of our friend and colleague. Hug your loved ones tonight,” the show’s producers shared in a statement.

Amazon MGM Studios and Sony Pictures Television added, “The entire Gen V family is devastated by the sudden passing of Chance Perdomo. Amazon MGM Studios and Sony Pictures Television extend our heartfelt thoughts and support to Chance’s family and all who loved him at this difficult time.”

Filming on Gen V Season 2 has been delayed indefinitely.

Patrick Schwarzenegger, who plays Luke, aka Golden Boy, remembered his co-star.

“This hurts. A lot. What a young talented actor, and a great friend – gone way too soon. Was a pleasure to work with him in GenV. RIP Chance,” he tweeted.
