Prime Video has confirmed that Andrew Richardson, Zubin Varla, and Adam Young are joining the cast of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power for its third season. Filming recently began at Shepperton Studios in the UK. Richardson will join as a series regular, while Varla and Young take on recurring roles.
Andrew Richardson Joins as Series Regular
Richardson is a Canadian-born British actor best known for his work in UK theatre. He played Sky Masterson in Guys & Dolls at the Bridge Theatre, a performance that earned him a 2023 Emerging Talent nomination from the Evening Standard Theatre Awards. In 2025, he was nominated for the Ian Charleson award for his roles in Uncle Vanya and A Midsummer Nightâs Dream. Richardson trained at Carnegie Mellon and will also appear in the Peacock series Ponies.
Zubin Varla Brings Stage and Screen Experience
Zubin Varla is an Olivier Award-winning actor with a career spanning stage and television. He won the 2023 Olivier Award for his role in Tammy Faye and earned additional nominations for A Little Life and Fun Home. Varla has appeared in Andor on Disney+, as well as in Deep State, Our Girl, and Silent Witness. Heâs currently working on a BBC project and Netflixâs upcoming Hostage.
Adam Young Adds Genre Experience
Adam Young is best known for playing Jim-Bob in Donât Breathe 2. A graduate of Mountview Academy, he debuted in Two for Joy and has appeared in The Witcher: Blood Origin, Sex Education, and EastEnders. His theatre work includes Redlands, Call Me Vicky, and several Shakespeare productions across the UK and Europe.
