‘The Running Man’ Trailer Is Here Starring Glen Powell & Josh Brolin

The Running Man is back with a new take, and this time it’s Glen Powell stepping into the lead. Directed by Edgar Wright, the movie adapts the Stephen King novel and hits theaters on November 7. The first trailer and poster dropped. Watch below.

Powell Takes On Ben Richards

In The Running Man, Powell plays Ben Richards (who Arnold Schwarzenegger played in the original), a working-class father who enters a brutal televised game to earn money for his sick daughter. The show is simple and violent: survive 30 days while being hunted by assassins, and each day raises the prize money. Millions watch. Only one runs.

Josh Brolin plays Dan Killian, the show’s manipulative producer who convinces Richards to enter. But what starts as desperation turns into something else, as Richards’ instincts and attitude gain him fans—and make him a problem for the people in charge.

Here is the official synopsis:

In a near-future society, The Running Man is the top-rated show on television—a deadly competition where contestants, known as Runners, must survive 30 days while being hunted by professional assassins, with every move broadcast to a bloodthirsty public and each day bringing a greater cash reward.

Desperate to save his sick daughter, working-class Ben Richards (Glen Powell) is convinced by the show’s charming but ruthless producer, Dan Killian (Josh Brolin), to enter the game as a last resort. But Ben’s defiance, instincts, and grit turn him into an unexpected fan favorite—and a threat to the entire system. As ratings skyrocket, so does the danger, and Ben must outwit not just the Hunters, but a nation addicted to watching him fall.
