‘Captain America: Brave New World’ Named Fandango’s Most Anticipated Movie Of 2025

Captain America: Brave New World is named Fandango’s most anticipated movie of 2025.

The online ticket seller polled over 9,000 ticket buyers and came up with a list of the top ten.

Interestingly, James Gunn’s Superman is at the bottom of the list, coming in at #9. Ben Affleck’s The Accountant 2 actually tops it; the first film was released in 2016 and only brought in $155 million. It’s a good movie, but it seems hard to believe it’s ahead of Superman on a list of most anticipated films.

I created our own poll with the same movies, so feel free to vote below.

fandango most anticipated movie 2025

At #1 is Captain America: Brave New World (Feb. 14, 2025): It seems fans aren’t tired of the MCU just yet. It follows the massive success of Deadpool & Wolverine. However, it has been said Captain America: Brave New World has had to undergo major reshoots (like at least four times). Maybe they fixed things. It can’t be any worse than The Marvels (right?).

Making up the rest of the list includes at #2, Mission Impossible: The Final Reckoning (May 23, 2025), the last movie in the franchise. Dead Reckoning released last year only brought in $570 million. Fans are excited?

At #3 is Jurassic World Rebirth (July 2, 2025) starring Scarlett Johansson. You pretty much know what you are getting here.

#4 is Ballerina (June 6, 2025), the John Wick spinoff. Perhaps the success of John Wick 4 will bolster the female John Wick.

#5 is a second Marvel movie with Fantastic Four: First Steps (July 25, 2025). I’m trying to remain optimistic. I love the theme.

#6 is Avatar: Fire and Ash (Dec. 19, 2025). Somehow the Avatar movies make gazillions of dollars even though nobody knows anyone who has gone to see them and there is never any online hype. It’s good to be King James.

#7 is Wicket Part Two (Nov. 21, 2025). The first film released Thanksgiving weekend is already approaching $500 million.

#8 is The Accountant 2 (April 25, 2025). Again, the first one is actually really good so maybe it became popular while on streaming? And 9 years later?!

#9 is James Gunn’s Superman (July 11, 2025). Do people have DC fatigue? After flop after flop (The Flash is the best movie ever, right?) and all the drama surrounding Zack Snyder, are fans tired of DC? Are fans worried what Gunn will do to the Man of Steel???

#10 is 28 Years Later (June 20, 2025) which launches a new trilogy and continues from the two previous zombie-infested films. Watch the new trailer.
