In addition to Clayface, the DC animated movie Dynamic Duo also gets a release date with June 30, 2028, and it’s confirmed the flick will be released in IMAX and in theaters.
Dynamic Duo is Robin’s origin
The animated movie is said to be the origin story of the two Robins, Dick Grayson and Jason Todd, as it will follow the early days of the characters.
A previous report stated Dynamic Duo will depict how the friendship between Grayson and Todd as youths becomes tested by their diverging ideas for what their future should be.

Matt Reeves is producing. Matthew Aldrich is writing the script who is known for Lightyear and Coco. Directing is Arthur Mintz who worked in the storyboard department on James and the Giant Peach and was a contributing writer on Netflix’s Lost Ollie, an animated movie featuring a blend of CGI and stop-motion animation that won multiple Emmys.
The Dynamic Duo animation is said to be “puppetry animation” from a new animation studio out of New Orleans named Swaybox run by Mintz and and his wife, Theresa Andersson. The company confirmed the release date on Instagram.
Dynamic Duo is from DC Studios and Bill Damaschke new Warner Bros. Pictures Animation, which formed last year.
What did Matt Reeves say about Dynamic Duo?
In a statement released when the film was first announced, Reeves said:
“I have wanted to make a film with Arthur and Swaybox for many years, and for that film to be Dynamic Duo, an incredibly special and unique Batman and Robin story for families, is a dream.”
What did James Gunn say about Dynamic Duo?
Gunn added at the time on Instagram:
“Over the moon excited to announce the newest DC Studios/Warner Bros Pictures Animation greenlit film for theaters, DYNAMIC DUO, the story of Robin… or should I say, Robins, as in Dick Grayson and Jason Todd. The first feature film from the visionary Swaybox, a mix of animation, puppetry, and CGI, a script from the wonderfully talented Matt Aldrich, produced with our partners at Matt Reeves’ 6th and Idaho.
