Maslany has a track record of blasting Disney leadership.
In the summer of 2023, she attacked CEO Bob Iger over his strike comments, calling him “completely out of touch” with the workers who make Disney’s shows possible. She accused the company of exploiting crews, cast, and writers, saying executives hoarded wealth while those on the ground were taken advantage of.

The actress has also sparked backlash over her remarks on parental rights. In June 2023, Maslany argued that parents should not have control over how their children identify, saying, “It should not be in the control of parents how a child identifies. That isn’t a parent’s place — it’s an overreach.”
She added, “Children have rights. Children are human beings who know themselves and we should be taking cues from them.”
