Marvel Actor Reveals Captain America Infinity Stones Pitch

Marvel Actor Reveals Captain America Infinity Stones Pitch

In what looks to be a confirmation of previous rumors, a Marvel actor has revealed he was the one to come up with the idea and pitched a project based on Captain America returning the Infinity Stones.

Rumors first surfaced back in early 2023 that Chris Evans would be back as Captain America along with both Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man and Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow.

The rumors back then offered a Disney+ series was in the works following Steve Rogers becoming Nomad after abandoning the Captain America costume and title.

The series was said to follow Captain America becoming Nomad after finding out that the President of the United States is part of the villainous Secret Empire.

The rumor for the MCU series said that “Captain America sheds his name and becomes Nomad, as he cannot support America when finding out about this dark secret.”

It was further claimed that the Nomad series followed Captain America as he travels back in time to return the Infinity Stones and that Cap runs into Tony Stark in the past, which explains the return of Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man, and we can guess Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow.

Well, Robert Downey Jr. was recently announced to be returning as Doctor Doom in the MCU, not Iron Man.

Ross Marquand’s Captain America idea

Marvel actor Ross Marquand, who played the Red Skull in Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame and who voiced Ultron in What… If?, recently attended the Edmonton Expo in Alberta, Canada.

The actor revealed he pitched Marvel a Disney+ series about Chris Evans returning as Captain America returning the Infinity Stones.

Back in 2020, the actor revealed he wanted it as a movie:

I also thought it would be really interesting to make a standalone movie with Cap returning all the stones. Because when he jumps into the time machine at the end of Endgame , he’s gone for a second and then comes back as an old man, But I think it would be really interesting to see what happens each time he returns those stones. And that would be a fascinating movie in and of itself, I think. I hope [Red Skull] does [return]. I don’t know if they have any bad blood anymore, Cap probably does, but I think Red Skull is cursed with infinite knowledge, so he might not care about revenge at all. I hope he comes back, we’ll see. Fingers crossed.
