Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s daughter, Ava Raine, is facing backlash after posting comments online just hours after the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk.
What She Posted
Raine, 24, who wrestles in WWE under the name Ava Raine, shared a post from comedian Gianmarco Soresi on social media.
“If you want people to have kind words when you pass, you should say kind things when you’re alive,” said the tweet by Soresi.
Raine quoted the tweet and retweeted, doubling down on X, writing: “and i’ll stand behind this. be kind, now more than ever.”
Although she never mentioned Kirk by name, her timing — coming only hours after he was killed in front of thousands at Utah Valley University — sparked widespread outrage.
Backlash Online
WWE fans quickly called out Raine’s remarks:
- “Be kind or get assassinated?? I’m sure you’ve said something unkind I know your dad has what an idiotic statement.”
- “@WWE @TKOGrp does TKO and WWE stand behind this?”
- “If your ass ain’t unemployed by the end of the day this shifts to WWE itself. If TKO wants to stand behind some Nepobaby and lose customers, that’s their issue.”
Critics argued her words were insensitive, poorly timed, and could reflect badly on WWE and its parent company TKO Group if left unaddressed.
WWE Remains Silent
As of now, WWE and TKO have not issued any statement regarding Raine’s comments. The controversy, however, is growing online, with many wrestling fans demanding disciplinary action.
