Moon Knight Season 2 Sounds Like It’s Never Happening

It sounds like that’s all she wrote for Moon Knight and that Season 2 is unlikely to happen.

The best hope for more Moon Knight in the MCU might be Avengers 5, that is assuming the rumors are true.

Following the costume designer recently stating she has no idea about Season 2, Moon Knight director Mohamed Diab sheds doubt on a second season.

“Hollywood can be harsh”

“Working on Moon Knight was amazing, but Hollywood can be harsh,” Diab told Deadline.  “We get offers every day, but you have to do something better. I don’t mind a clean slate. I don’t mind if I onlywork every five years, as long as I’m doing something better at the next step.”

Regarding Moon Knight Season 2, Diab says he is open for a return to Marvel.

“You never know – with Marvel nothing is called finished. There could be a film, or he could go into another universe,” Diab said. “Right now nothing is in talks but I definitely with Moon Knight, I would love to be involved in anything else and it could happen for sure. I have a great relationship with them.”

Moon Knight premiered back in March of 2022 starring Osar Isaac, so it has already been over two years since last we saw of the character.

What’s next for Marvel TV?

Similar to the other Marvel shows on Disney+, Moon Knight didn’t have the best ratings. Likewise, the show reportedly cost around $150 million to make. Disney CEO Bob Iger has said Disney lost billions on streaming. It’s known Disney is pulling back on Marvel. She-Hulk also cost $200M and isn’t getting a Season 2.

It seems Marvel will be going a lower budget route with future MCU shows, such as Agatha which only cost $40 million for the entire season and is from the “new” Marvel TV division. Up next is Daredevil: Born Again in March. Ironheart and Wonder Man are still supposed to get released but don’t have any release dates as of yet (Update: Marvel released a new trailer announcing the release dates). Daredevil: Born Again will also be getting a Season 2, but after that, Marvel hasn’t announced any new TV shows. There has been talk of Nova, but it’s not guaranteed.
