Predator: Badlands Is Not The Highest Grossing Predator Movie

The shilling for Predator: Badlands continues as now it’s erroneously claimed the flick is the highest-grossing of the entire franchise, including any of the connected Alien movies.

However, that’s simply not the case.

Predator: Badlands has a global box office as of Sunday of $173,740,607.

A simple check reveals that the 2004 Aliens vs Predator movie has a $177,427,090 gross.

If we convert that number to today’s dollars, that’s $305,073,154.22.

Predator: Badlands will come nowhere near that number, and as we’ve gone over many times, is expected to finish around $200 million for a loss of $60 million.

Likewise, the 1987 original starring Arnold Schwarzenegger lands at over $280M in today’s dollars, which is mostly made up from its domestic run, which comes in at a massive $170.793 million in today’s dollars, twice that of Badlands, which is expected to peter out around $100M domestically at best.

Predator: Badlands Director Confirms 'Alien' Tie-In: AVP Universe Rumors Intensify

I gotta say, the amount of spin from various sites and social media is pretty odd for this movie. It’s not a good movie at all. It’s budget is super high. A sequel hasn’t been announced. And again, it’s going to lose Disney money. It also looks like Predator will be headed back to streaming, assuming the franchise continues.

And for the record, the third weekend for Predator: Badlands was hardly “spectacular.” It only brought in around $4.8M domestically and another $6 million internationally. Weapons in its fourth weekend brought in $10.4M and only finished with $151.5M domestically and $268M worldwide, which is right around Badland‘s break-even, which it’s not coming anywhere near.

Read my review here. It’s another Disney woke indoctrination movie. That probably explains all the shilling.

  • Domestic (48.9%): $85,040,607
  • International (51.1%): $88,700,000
  • Worldwide: $173,740,607
