PRAGMATA Sells 1 Million Copies in Just Two Days for Capcom

Capcom says PRAGMATA is off to a fast start, as the new sci-fi action-adventure game has sold more than 1 million units worldwide in only two days.

The company announced the milestone in a press release, confirming that PRAGMATA reached the mark shortly after launching on April 17, 2026.

That is a strong debut for a completely new IP, especially one without the built-in fan base that comes with an established franchise.

Capcom says PRAGMATA had a strong launch

According to Capcom, PRAGMATA benefited from a mix of early marketing and wide platform support.

The company pointed to the release of a playable demo as one of the key ways it introduced players to the game’s mechanics and setting ahead of launch.

Capcom also said its multi-platform strategy helped broaden the game’s reach, with PRAGMATA releasing on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and Steam on PC. The Nintendo Switch 2 version launches April 24, 2026 in Japan and other parts of Asia.

Even with no existing brand recognition behind it, Capcom said those efforts created enough momentum to push PRAGMATA past 1 million copies sold in just two days.

What is PRAGMATA about?

PRAGMATA is a sci-fi action-adventure game set in a near-future lunar world ruled by artificial intelligence.

The story follows Hugh Williams and Diana, an android girl, as they make their way through that dangerous setting.

Capcom also described the game as a mix of action gameplay and puzzle elements.

The company said the project was developed mainly by a younger team inside Capcom, with the goal of building a fresh gameplay experience around a new world and concept.

Moving forward, we will continue making every effort to deliver the appeal of PRAGMATA to an even broader audience.”

The developers added that they were pleased to see players around the world embrace the game and said they will keep working to bring PRAGMATA to an even broader audience.
