We’ve been told the SnyderVerse is back in full play with Paramount buying Warner Bros. Discovery, and now Phil Lord and Christopher Miller are talking about their unmade The Flash movie.
It also follows Ray Fisher returning to social media to celebrate the anniversary of Zack Snyder’s Justice League. And there has even been talk of Ezra Miller making a Hollywood comeback.
What stands out is that they still do not want to give away the idea and believe they could still do the project years later.
Lord and Miller are coming off Project Hail Mary, which just opened to the biggest domestic debut of 2026 at $80.5 million and a $140.9 million global launch, giving them a lot of momentum. They’re also the team behind the popular Spider-Verse animated films.
So when Josh Horowitz brought up their old Flash project, they did not treat it like some dead idea buried in the past.

Lord and Miller kept their Flash idea close to the chest
Speaking on Happy Sad Confused, the pair confirmed they had gotten pretty far with their version of The Flash before it fell apart.
Chris Miller said, “We have a very elaborate treatment,” while Phil Lord added that it was “pretty different” from the movie that ended up getting made.
When asked what made it so different, they refused to get specific. Lord said, “It’s a good idea that I’m afraid to not be able to use someday. That’s all I’ll say.”
Worth a mention is that they did not say that it would never happen and actually seemed hopeful that one day they could do the project. Again, this comes amid Paramount buying WBD.

DC-related shakeups
Their comment is worth noting, especially amid ongoing talk about DC-related shakeups and renewed interest in older franchise ideas.
Lord and Miller were previously attached to The Flash during the DCEU era, a version expected to feature Ezra Miller and in which Ray Fisher’s Cyborg was also a major player. The version that finally hit theaters in 2023 was directed by Andy Muschietti and was a very different movie by the time it reached the screen.
With the SnyderVerse back in play, that means the return of the DCEU versions of The Flash and Cyborg.

They also dodged the James Gunn DCU question
Interestingly, Horowitz also asked whether they would be interested in doing something for DC again if James Gunn came calling.
They did not exactly shut it down, but they did not give a straight answer either.
Miller said, “We get intrigued by things that are intriguing,” while Lord added that they “loved” the movie Muschietti made.
