Marvel’s Wonder Man finally hit the Nielsen charts after all 8 episodes dropped on Disney+, but the numbers read like a warning label for the MCU’s streaming problem.

Wonder Man hits Nielsen, but the minutes are brutal
Nielsen’s weekly streaming rankings for Jan. 26 – Feb. 01, 2026 (all episodes dropped on the 27th) show Wonder Man at #8 on the Originals chart with 618 million minutes watched, with all 8 episodes available.
That breaks down to just 77.25 million minutes per episode.
For a full-season binge drop, that’s a rough per-episode average, and it looks like a new low for Marvel on Disney+.

Echo pulled more than double the per-episode watch time
Echo also dropped all its episodes at once, and it still did far better on a per-episode basis.
Nielsen listed Echo at 731 million minutes for the week of Jan. 8–14, 2024, with 5 episodes available, which averages about 146.2 million minutes per episode.
So even a previous Disney+ MCU low point outpaced Wonder Man by a wide margin on this simple minutes-per-episode comparison.

Showrunner admits the series tested poorly
And it gets worse.
Wonder Man showrunner Andrew Guest also confirmed it was a fight just to get the series made.
Guest appeared on The Watch podcast and admitted there were “several moments where we almost didn’t survive,” and described the show as one of the last projects that slipped in during Marvel’s earlier Disney+ push where they were approving a lot more content.
Guest also said that after the series was greenlit, the first two episodes had poor test screenings. Marvel didn’t bother to retool the episodes as they did with Daredevil: Born Again (didn’t chart at all on Nielsen) or pull the plug, but Guest said the response was essentially to change how they marketed the show, which we now know failed completely (surprise!).
Filmed years ago, and Marvel has already moved on
Wonder Man was filmed years ago. Marvel has already retooled its Disney+ strategy, cutting budgets and scaling back output. With the viewership landing where it did, don’t expect a second season.
