Joe Manganiello just posted a new Deathstroke tease on Instagram and tagged Zack Snyder, immediately firing up SnyderVerse speculation.
The video features Manganiello suited up as Slade Wilson from Zack Snyder’s Justice League with the line, “You’d better not be wasting my time…” along with #deathstroke and #zacksnyder.
That’s not subtle, and it doesn’t feel accidental. It could imply that Snyder or someone connected asked him to post the teaser.
Recall that we’ve been told Snyder has been posting DCEU images to gauge of the fan response.
Joe Manganiello Revives Deathstroke Talk
Manganiello’s Deathstroke is directly tied to Snyder’s DC vision.
He debuted as Slade Wilson in the original Justice League post-credit scene and returned in Zack Snyder’s Justice League, where the character was positioned for a larger role in the planned future films. He is also a part of Snyder’s Knightmare storyline.
By tagging Snyder now, Manganiello is clearly reconnecting himself to that unfinished storyline.
SnyderVerse Back in Play If Paramount Buys WBD?
The timing of this tease is important.
We’ve been told the SnyderVerse is back in play if Paramount ends up buying Warner Bros. Discovery, and right now that outcome is said to be looking more likely.
If Paramount takes over, the expectation is they would look at proven fan demand and existing IP value. That includes Snyder’s DC characters, which still generate strong engagement online and internationally.
In that scenario, bringing back Snyder-related projects — including something involving Deathstroke — would not be off the table. Manganiello reminding everyone he’s ready could be strategic.
If Netflix Wins, Snyder Eyes The Dark Knight Returns
If Netflix ends up winning the bidding war, we’ve been told Snyder’s preference is to adapt The Dark Knight Returns.
That project would function as a major standalone event and fits Netflix’s model of high-profile global releases.
