Will Smith has been sued by a former tour violinist who claims sexual harassment, retaliation, and wrongful termination tied to the actor and rapper’s 2025 concert tour.
Will Smith Accused of Sexual Harassment by Tour Violinist
According to a lawsuit reviewed by Variety, musician Brian King Joseph is suing Will Smith and Treyball Studios Management.
The suit alleges Smith engaged in “predatory behavior” and deliberately groomed Joseph for sexual exploitation during the Based on a True Story: 2025 Tour.
Joseph, who previously appeared on America’s Got Talent, claims he was first hired in November 2024 for a San Diego performance before being invited to join the full tour and work on Smith’s upcoming album.
Lawsuit Details Alleged Hotel Room Incident
The lawsuit centers on an incident that allegedly occurred during a March 2025 tour stop in Las Vegas.
Joseph claims his hotel room key went missing for several hours and that management staff were the only people with access to his room.
He alleges that someone later entered his room without permission and left behind wipes, a bottle of HIV medication labeled with another person’s name, and a handwritten note suggesting a private encounter (“Brian, I’ll be back no later [sic] 5:30, just us [drawn heart], Stone F,”).
Joseph reported the situation to hotel security, Smith’s representatives, and local police.

Termination and Retaliation Claims
Joseph claims that just days after reporting the incident, a member of the management team accused him of making the story up and terminated his employment.
The lawsuit alleges the firing caused emotional distress, PTSD, and financial losses.
Joseph is seeking damages to be determined by a jury. A representative for Will Smith has not responded to requests for comment by Variety.
