Legendary officially unveiled the first trailer for its upcoming Street Fighter movie during The Game Awards, giving fans their first real look at the long-awaited video game adaptation hitting theaters on October 16, 2026.
The trailer debuted with the tagline “PUSH START,” teasing the World Warrior Tournament with fast cuts, stylized visuals, and a tone clearly inspired by the classic Capcom games.

The trailer is set to Joey Valence and Brae’s Beastie Boys-inspired track “Punk Tactics,” immediately signaling a high-energy, modern take on the franchise while still leaning into its arcade roots.
While the footage itself was brief, it highlighted the scale of the tournament, quick flashes of combat, and the larger-than-life personalities fans expect from Street Fighter.

The appearance reinforced just how stacked the roster is, pulling heavily from the Street Fighter II era while expanding into later characters.
The cast also includes Curtis “50 Cent” Jacksonas Balrog, Hirooki Goto as E. Honda, Eric André as Don Sauvage, and David Dastmalchian as M. Bison.

Directed by Kitao Sakurai
The film is directed by Kitao Sakurai (Bad Trip, Twisted Metal) and is being co-developed and co-produced with Capcom. Legendary will release the movie through its global distribution deal with Paramount Pictures.
