Warner Bros. revealed new details about the Supergirl activation coming to CCXP on December 6, and it reinforces what fans already expect: James Gunn’s DCU is doubling down on the same goofy tone seen in Superman, Peacemaker, and Creature Commandos.
The CCXP booth isn’t subtle about it either.
An “Intergalactic Bar” for Supergirl
The official description confirms the Supergirl booth is themed around an “intergalactic bar,” with Kara hanging out, drinking, and partying — exactly how the Superman movie ended, where Milly Alcock’s Supergirl shows up as a drunk mess.
Fans hoping for a more serious or heroic Supergirl, apparently, aren’t getting that version in the DCU.
It’s a direct callback to Tom King’s Woman of Tomorrow, a comic widely criticized for turning Supergirl into a bitter, booze-fueled character. That’s the story Gunn chose for his movie, and this CCXP setup makes it clear they’re sticking to that portrayal.
Krypto Challenge, Alien Popcorn Machine & Claw Prizes
The booth will feature:
- A Krypto interaction and “Krypto Challenge”
- An alien-themed popcorn machine
- Speed and strength games
- A claw machine with prizes
- Dance music and bar-style energy
It’s basically a theme-park mini-game zone, continuing the same slapstick vibe Gunn pushes across the DCU. Instead of promoting Supergirl as a powerful, dramatic lead, they’re selling her world as a party hangout with carnival attractions.
On December 6 at CCXP, 'SUPERGIRL' will have an immersive booth that brings the movie's intergalactic bar to life, complete with Krypto interactions, an alien-themed popcorn machine, a speed and strength challenge, and a claw machine with prizes.

Fits the DCU Tone So Far
Everything shown so far from Gunn’s DCU leans into goofiness:
- Superman mixing heroes with sitcom-style comedy
- Peacemaker embracing crude humor
- Creature Commandos aimed at being bizarre and over-the-top
Now Supergirl joins the same lane, continuing the shift away from the grounded tone fans wanted returned after the Snyder era.
Even Jor-El fits the pattern — King’s comic portrayed him as an unstable, raving lunatic, which matches Gunn’s version in the DCU.
Nothing about this CCXP booth suggests the movie will correct course.
Fans Expected This — CCXP Just Confirms It
CCXP is usually where WB tries to get fans excited with big reveals, but this booth only adds more fuel to the criticism that Gunn is steering every DC character toward forced quirkiness.
Instead of building Supergirl into a major dramatic pillar of the DCU, WB is leaning into bars, jokes, popcorn machines, and mini-games.
For fans hoping Supergirl would balance out Gunn’s tone, the CCXP activation suggests the opposite. This movie looks ready to be just as goofy as everything else in the DCU rollout.
The only thing we’ve heard that sounds promising is that we were told they added more of Jason Momoa as Lobo.
