Honoring the Legacy of Anne Rice

Born in New Orleans in 1941, Anne Rice became one of the world’s most recognized voices in supernatural and historical fiction. Her 36 novels have sold more than 150 million copies, starting with her 1976 debut Interview with the Vampire. Her body of work includes The Vampire Chronicles, The Mummy, The Lives of the Mayfair Witches, The Wolf Gift Chronicles, and her final collaboration with her son Christopher Rice, Ramses the Damned: The Reign of Osiris (2022).

Rice passed away in 2021 and was laid to rest in Metairie Cemetery. Her influence continues through countless adaptations and a devoted fan base that spans generations.

Four Years in the Making

The upcoming celebration fulfills a promise made by Christopher Rice, Anne’s son and a bestselling author himself, to give fans a proper farewell. The event will feature a stage production and the premiere of a new documentary anthology, including never-before-seen interviews with Anne’s family, friends, and collaborators.

Performers include New Orleans’ own Irma Thomas, known as the “Soul Queen of New Orleans,” Mary Fahl, the former lead singer of October Project, and Broadway veteran Carolee Carmello, who starred in Elton John’s Lestat musical based on Anne’s work.

“Simply put, there would be no Anne Rice without New Orleans,” Christopher Rice said. “No other city could host a celebration of my mother on this grand scale and with this much authentic flavor.”

Produced by Close Collaborators

The event is being produced by Dinner Partners LLC, co-owned by Christopher Rice and Eric Shaw Quinn, both of whom were close to Anne and frequent collaborators. The two also manage The Dinner Party Show Network, which often hosted Anne Rice’s exclusive announcements and interviews.

As curators of her literary estate, Dinner Partners is continuing her legacy through new projects inspired by her dark, romantic worlds.

“When I first encountered her novels, they changed my life,” said Quinn. “To now help celebrate her legacy as a friend and collaborator is an honor I’ll cherish forever.”
