Charlie Cox has canceled his upcoming appearance at SpaceCon San Antonio, which follows Jon Bernthal’s cancellation at New York Comic Con, further fueling speculation that both actors are tied up filming Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
Cox Cancels SpaceCon
SpaceCon announced on Instagram that Cox had to drop out of the event scheduled for October 24–26:
“CHARLIE COX signed on to [a] new [movie]…… and due to [his] filming [schedule]– [had] to cancel [his] SPACECON [appearance].”
The announcement lines up with the recent rumor that Cox is returning as Daredevil in Spider-Man: Brand New Day and heading to the UK to film alongside Tom Holland.
Bernthal Pulled Out of NYCC
The news comes after New York Comic Con confirmed that Jon Bernthal, who plays The Punisher, had to cancel his appearance due to production conflicts:
“We’re disappointed to share that due to his production schedule, Jon Bernthal can no longer attend NYCC 2025. We hope to have him join us in the future. If you purchased a solo Photo Op or Autograph with Jon, or a Daredevil/Punisher Team Up photo, Epic will contact you directly for a refund. Stay tuned, NYCC fans. We have a NEW guest announcement comin’ right up!”
Bernthal’s cancellation, coupled with Cox now dropping out of SpaceCon, strongly suggests that the actors are filming their Marvel roles together.
Charlie Cox Still Set for NYCC
Interestingly, Cox is still listed as a guest at NYCC 2025, running October 9–12 in New York City.
Fans may get their first chance to hear him address the Spider-Man: Brand New Day rumors directly.
