IO Interactive has released the first extended gameplay reveal for 007 First Light, offering over 30 minutes of footage and developer commentary. The upcoming game explores the early years of James Bond, setting the stage for his transformation into 007.
As suspected, Patrick Gibson is providing the likeness and voicing Bond.
Over 30 Minutes of New Footage
The reveal includes:
- 20 minutes of gameplay from Bond’s first official mission: tracking rogue agent 009 with help from his MI6 teammates.
- 10 minutes of commentary from IO Interactive devs, showcasing combat systems, stealth mechanics, and new spy gadgets.

Bond’s First Mission
In 007 First Light, players take control of a young, untested James Bond. The gameplay shows Bond infiltrating a remote facility in pursuit of Agent 009. The demo highlights a flexible approach to missions—go loud, go silent, or blend in with dialogue and gadgets.
Stealth and Combat Mechanics
The video confirms what fans of IO Interactive’s Hitman series might expect: player freedom. You can use hand-to-hand takedowns, silenced pistols, hacking tools, and disguises. The UI is minimalist, letting the cinematic world take the spotlight.

007 First Light launches March 27, 2026 for:

- Xbox Series X|S
- PC
- Nintendo Switch 2
The game will include mission modifiers for replayability and optional challenge scenarios at MI6’s training center.
