This approach worked out well for Marvel, Brie Larson, The Acolyte, Halo, among others, and now Bella Ramsey isn’t holding back when it comes to addressing criticism of HBO’s The Last of Us Season 2 and the upcoming Season 3.
She tells fans if you don’t like it, don’t watch it.

Ramsey’s Response to Backlash
In a new interview while appearing on The Awardist podcast, Ramsey spoke directly to fans who disliked the show’s direction, especially the controversial storyline adapted from the second game.
“I would say, you don’t have to watch it. If you hate it so much, the game exists … you can just play the game again, you don’t have to watch it,” she said. “But if you do want to watch it, then I hope you enjoy it.”
The blunt comment echoes a growing divide among fans, many of whom were upset with Season 2’s choices — including Joel’s death and the polarizing flashback episode that many said ruined his character.

Creative Changes Behind the Scenes
Ramsey’s statement comes at a time of uncertainty for the series.
Halley Gross, co-writer of The Last of Us Part II and a producer on the show, recently announced she’s stepping away from the project. She follows Neil Druckmann, who also exited his creative role on Season 3.
With both key storytellers out, fans are questioning how closely Season 3 will follow the game and how showrunner Craig Mazin will steer the adaptation.

The Fan Divide
Season 2 received heavy backlash online, with some viewers abandoning the series while others defended its accuracy to the game.
Ramsey’s latest remarks show frustration with ongoing negativity, pushing back at critics who continue to attack the series and its cast.
Usually that spells the end of said project.

What’s Next
Season 3 of The Last of Us is expected to continue adapting Part II, with Kaitlyn Dever’s Abby taking a central role. Whether fans stick with the series remains to be seen — but Ramsey is making it clear: the show isn’t for everyone.
It’s also unclear if The Last of Us has a future after its third season.
