Zach Cregger’s new horror movie, Weapons, continues to crush the box office in its second weekend with only a 42.5% drop, which is phenomenal for a horror flick.
It’s already blown by it’s break-even number ($95M), which I believe it did in its first week of release, and has made Warner Bros. close to $50 million in just ten days.
Weapons is a movie I continue to tell people to go see — and don’t watch any of the trailers or footage online and don’t read any reviews (read mine here), just go see it!
A sequel is already being discussed.

Weapons box office numbers
Weapons stayed on top of the box office in its second weekend, earning $25M — a 42.5% drop from its $43.5M debut.
Weapons vs Final Destination: Bloodlines
For comparison, Final Destination: Bloodlines dropped 62.5% in its second weekend and brought in less with $19.3M.
Guess what? They’re both from Warner Bros. — you think they’re complaining?

Vs Sinners
So what about Sinners?
Sinners basically had no drop (4.8%), which is unheard of, and the flick also had Ryan Coogler, a known billion-dollar director, and Michael B. Jordan, a known superstar actor.
Weapons? Cregger, an unknown, did Barbarian, which only made $45M worldwide but became something of a cult hit.
Also, credit to WB for not spoiling things in the marketing campaign; no one knew what Weapons was about, which made the movie all the better. Sinners? Everyone knew it was a period piece vampire movie, which already comes with a built-in fanbase (as does Coogler and Jordan).
Sinners happened to have a budget close to $100M, while Weapons? Only $38M. Again, you think WB is complaining?
Sinners finished with $365,878,513 worldwide, and Final Destination: Bloodlines $285,330,814.
