Josh Brolin is open to reprising his role as Thanos in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and says he’d do it again without hesitation.
In a new interview on Josh Horowitz’s YouTube channel, Brolin was asked if he would play the Mad Titan again.
“If they called me in London right now and said, ‘Let’s do this,’ I’d be like, ‘I’ll be there tomorrow,’” Brolin said, as Marvel is currently filming Avengers: Doomsday.

Still Close With Marvel Alumni
Brolin explained that he remains in contact with Robert Downey Jr., who is returning to the MCU as Doctor Doom, as well as with Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame directors Joe and Anthony Russo, who are directing Doomsday and Secret Wars.
“I talk Downey probably four to six times a year. I talk to the Russos probably four to six times a week,” Brolin said. “I talk to Joe [Russo] a lot. We have a business we are doing together. I love them — both of them. I think they’re amazing.”
While noting that Endgame was a satisfying conclusion for Thanos, Brolin said he has confidence the Russos would come up with something “really fun” if they brought the character back.
“I don’t know what they’re going to do, but I’m sure it will be very interesting,” he said. I think they do that very very, very, well.”

Rumors have offered Brolin could be back as King Thanos, who in the Marvel Comics is an older version of Thanos from an alternate future where he has conquered the universe and seeks a worthy opponent to kill him.

Chaos on Set Avengers set
Brolin also recalled the unpredictable nature of filming Infinity War and Endgame.
He never had a complete script for the two movies and filmed Deadpool 2 in the middle of production, which meant he returned to set with different looks and even varying levels of fitness.
“We’d do things over that didn’t necessarily work the first time,” Brolin said.

Memories of Iron Man’s Death
Speaking about Thanos’ final battle with Iron Man, Brolin remembered Robert Downey Jr.’s late assistant, Jimmy Rich, always being on hand to give Downey nicotine gum between takes. He also recalled having to put his hand on Downey’s head, joking it was “super uncomfortable, just a little sexual.”
He also shared a humorous behind-the-scenes moment with Zoe Saldana. Because of the Thanos costume’s height extension, she had to look up toward where his head would be during an emotional scene, which meant Brolin’s eyeline was aimed much lower at her crotch.
“So she’s looking at that and I’m looking at that,” Brolin laughed.
Josh Brolin currently stars in Zach Cregger’s Weapons.
