Why has The Batman: Part II been delayed?

The film has gone through numerous release date delays.

The Wrap points to a reason being the 2023 actors and writers’ strikes. It’s also known that Matt Reeves has been attending to a personal situation.

Delay not necessarily a bad thing

The Wrap also adds that Reeves’ Batman will continue to be its own thing, set outside the James Gunn DCU.

However, it’s even been floated out there that a reason for the delay might be to see if James Gunn’s Superman movie is a big success this summer. If it is, and Reeves is happy with Gunn’s Superman, there’s speculation that Reeves might allow his Batman to connect to the DCU. We’ll see.

Rumors offer that Gunn’s new DCU movie he is developing is World’s Finest, featuring his David Corenswet Superman, and a Batman. Rumors say Gunn wants Pattinson in the DCU.

From a fan perspective, yeah, it kind of stinks there have been delays and that it’s taking so long for The Batman 2, but at the same time, it’s probably better not to rush things. The delays have given Reeves time to make the sequel all the better.
