Gears of War details

The Netflix Gears of War movie was first announced back in 2022, with it said a Gears of War live-action and animated universe is being created. Teaser art was released for the adult animated series, pictured above.

With over 40 million copies sold, Gears of War stands as one of gaming’s most recognized and praised franchises. Set in a world on the edge of collapse, humanity faces annihilation at the hands of the Locust—a brutal enemy emerging from underground. Delta Squad, led by disgraced sergeant Marcus Fenix, becomes humanity’s last hope for survival.

“Emergence Day” sets the stage: the planet is in ruins, cities destroyed, and the Locust Horde keeps coming. Fenix, once left to rot in prison, now carries the burden of saving what’s left. The only comfort? Humanity isn’t wiped out. Yet.

The most recent installment shifts focus to Kait Diaz. As war erupts, she sets out on her own to uncover a personal link to the enemy—only to find the biggest threat to the planet may be herself.
