Doctor Doom’s Battleworld Teased in Avengers: Doomsday Leak

Doctor Doom’s Battleworld Teased in Avengers: Doomsday Leak

We get another Avengers: Doomsday leak courtesy of a drone video out of the UK, where the production teams continue to design what is guessed to be Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom’s Battleworld.

Avengers: Doomsday is now in production and will be released May 1, 2026. Thunderbolts will be released next week, and The Fantastic Four: First Steps will be released in July, both of which are said to lead directly to Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars.

Drones Capture Footage Despite Massive Set Walls

The set is actually hidden behind forty-foot-high walls constructed from shipping containers. However, the leak (watch below) comes from drones used high above the set, offering a look at potential footage — and spoilers.

I’m not sure if anything could be done by the studio about the use of the drones. Once they actually start filming and actors are used, the leaker could reveal big-time spoilers, as they did for the DCU Supergirl movie.

I’ll say that if something is super-spoilerish, I won’t post it, so no worries. However, if it’s a “first look” at “so and so” from high above, I’ll probably go with it. Marvel already announced some of the cast (see below), so some of them are to be expected.

Avengers: Doomsday Set Shows Crashed Spaceship, Craters, and Statues

Regarding what is shown in the Avengers: Doomsday set video, you can compare it to the first leaked video.

The new video has added details, including some sort of statues and even what is said to be crashed spaceships. Again, I’m not getting into specific spoilers, and be forewarned, they are out there, so you can watch the video below and talk about it in the comments below and on social media.

How Secret Wars and God Emperor Doom Could Shape Avengers: Doomsday

Regarding what it could be about, the Russo Brothers are big fans of the original Secret Wars comic. In that story, the Beyonder actually creates Battleworld as he brings various denizens from the universe together to battle it out with the promise of giving the victor anything they want. Galactus is there. Doom is there along with his villain team. The X-Men are there, and The Avengers.

From the cast that Marvel has announced, it seems the MCU will be going similar to the comics; however, as of yet, there haven’t been any hints of the Beyonder. So what the Russos could be doing is adapting the original Secret Wars comic and the recent remake published in 2015 by Hickman, who is Marvel’s go-to writer for adapting the MCU into the comics.

In the remake, Doctor Doom becomes “God Emperor Doom” and creates Battleworld, a patchwork planet formed from the remnants of destroyed universes. Leaked MCU concept art showed off who is thought to be Emperor Doom (see above), but the Russos quickly shot that down and said it isn’t from their movies. It’s possible it could have been for the canceled Avengers: Kang Dynasty movie or related, and if anything, it confirms Marvel has thought about using the God Emperor Doom.

Release info: A new beginning

Avengers: Doomsday gets released on May 1, 2026 directed by Joe and Anthony Russo.

The Russos recently teased Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars, which they are filming back-to-back: “What’s compelling about these two new Avengers movies is they’re a beginning. It’s a new beginning. We told an ending story, now we’re going to tell a beginning story.”

They added,  “Well, we always create our own version of the story. So, we use the comics as loose inspiration. But, you know, I grew up on the original run. That’s something that got me into Marvel comic books. The Hickman run is also fantastic [and they’re] very different from each other in a lot of ways, so we’ll draw inspiration from both of them.”
