It’s again said the live-action Tomb Raider series that was supposed to star Sophie Turner is dead at Amazon.
Further details include it said that Phoebe Waller-Bridge, who had been developing the show, has seen a big downgrade at the company.

What are the details?
Tomb Raider dead
The latest details come via the Daily Mail who says the Tomb Raider series is “dead” as a result of being “stuck in development hell” due to not only Phoebe Waller-Bridge taking so long to finish her scripts, but that when the scripts came in, they’ve been “judged not ready to shoot.”
News the series might not happen first came about last August from Puck News. According to the site, the scripts still aren’t ready.
Jennifer Salke fired
The article also states that a big reason the Tomb Raider series has been canceled is because of the exit of Jennifer Salke as the head of Amazon MGM Studios who had been championing the series, pouring millions of dollars into its development.
Reports have actually said Salke was fired over the recent James Bond deal, and potentially Rings of Power, Citadel, and more.

Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s Amazon contract downgraded
Regarding Phoebe Waller-Bridge getting a downgrade, the report states that just prior to Salke’s exit, Waller-Bridge’s contract was conveniently renewed.
However, it’s not the same contract, as now Waller-Bridge’s Amazon deal is “non-exclusive, first look basis; and for a fraction of the previous sum.” Under her previous contract, it “resulted in not a single minute of broadcast content to date.”
The new also happens to follow Disney’s Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny losing well over a hundred million dollars.

What about Sophie Turner?
Back in November, it was reported that Game of Thrones star Sophie Turner was Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s choice to play Lara Croft. Turner even basically dressed up as the character for Halloween (Trinity from The Matrix sporting two guns).
With the Tomb Raider series said to be dead, sources tell The Daily Mail that Turner is busy with other projects. One of those happens to be a horror movie with fellow Game of Thrones star Kit Harington, The Dreadful.
