The images are from set props of Daily Planet newspaper which feature articles about Superman saving people.

“Superman saves 20 after downtown building collapse. No fatalities in what could have been a tragic outcome,” states one headline, with set images showing off the damage and rubble. See below.

The other – written by none other than Clark Kent – shows that Superman saved over 300 people from a runaway train – so yes – that means he’s faster than a locomotive. The scene also looks to be straight out of the comics.

“Heroism flashes across the Metropolis sky in blue, red, and gold,” states the article. “At 8:02 AM on Wednesday, the Metropolis Trans Authority (MTA) received a distress call from the northbound A Train with reports of brakes and uncontrolled acceleration, resulting in multiple missed stops along Morrison Avenue.”

The article continues, “With over 300 passengers on board, panicspread as the Metrorail train reached hazardous speeds and barreled through downtown New Troy. Potential disaster loomed only a mile away; pipeline construction near the Metropolis City Hall meant an 80-foot segment of the railway track had been removed leaving a three-story drop between unconnected railway tracks.”

“‘We were helpless,’ said train operator Tom Wadsworth,” the article adds. “‘There wasn’t enough time for the MTA to intervene. Emergency brakes were malfunctioning. I could see the break in the tracks just ahead. I prayed for a miracle.'”

Elsewhere in the article it reads: “‘Because of Superman, I am still alive,’ passenger Evie Shriner commented on the city’s most famous superhero.'”

Adding, “… A native of Metropolis, Evie credits Superman with not only saved her life, the but also declared that ‘he is the best this city has to offer. He saved hundreds of lives this morning.'”

The article also says, “According to MTA officials, no one was injured. The passengers were transferred to shuttle busses to continue their commutes.”

The Daily Planet newspaper also makes mention of Nicholas Hoult’s Lex Luthor as the paper states Lex won the Arcane Genius Award.

James Gunn’s Superman flies into theaters on July 11, 2025 also starring Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, and Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor.

The film also features Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, María Gabriela De Faría as the Engineer, Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner, Anthony Carrigan as Metamorpho, Edi Gathegi as Mister Terrific, Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen, Sara Sampaio as Eve Teschmacher, Terence Rosemore as Otis, with Wendell Pierce as Perry White, Beck Bennett as Steve Lombard, Mikaela Hoover as Cat Grant, and Christopher MacDonald as Ron Troupe. Milly Alcock is also thought to be debuting as Supergirl prior to her own movie which gets released in 2026.
