What is quickly beginning to sound like a broken record, Daisy Ridley again says she hasn’t read the script for her new Star Wars movie, referred to as “New Jedi Order.”
Damon Lindelof and Justin Britt-Gibson were writing the script but exited the project for some reason (Lindelof is now with the DCU and James Gunn on Green Lantern).
Steven Knight has been said to be the new writer, with rumors offering that as of this past January, the script wasn’t finished.
Script still not finished
Daisy Ridley was asked in March if she read the script but she stated she didn’t and blamed the strikes for the delays.
Last month saw Empire Magazine ask the same question which saw Ridley state she was going to read the script this month.
However, while promoting her latest project, Young Woman and the Sea, with THR, Ridley is again asked if she has “seen words on paper yet?”
Ridley laughed at the question:
(Laughs.) I have not read actual words on actual paper, but [a script] is soon coming.
What is Star Wars: New Jedi Order about?
Assuming the movie happens, the film is said to follow Daisy Ridley as Rey after the events of The Rise of Skywalker where Rey rebuilds the Jedi Order.
“I’m very thrilled about the project because I feel what we’re about to create is something very special,” director Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy recently told CNN. “We’re in 2024 now, and it’s about time that we had a woman come forward to shape a story in a galaxy far, far away.”
