What is Transformers One about?
The animated movie is a prequel origin story where Chris Hemsworth provides the voice of Orion Pax, a young Optimus Prime.
Voicing D-16, the young Megatron, is Tyree Henry, with Scarlett Johansson voicing Elita.
IMDb also lists Jon Hamm as Sentinel Prime, Laurence Fishburne as Alpha Trion, Keegan-Michael Key as Bumblebee, and Steve Buscemi is listed in an unknown role.
It has also been said Peter Cullen will be a part of Transformers One, so maybe the flick eventually shows Orion Pax becoming Optimus Prime and then Cullen voices the character.
On stage at CinemaCon, Johansson said, “I’m so incredibly proud of the the work that we’ve all done” and teased Transformers One is “unlike anything you’ve ever seen onscreen.”
Chris Hemsworth also appeared on stage and said fans “will experience something truly spectacular.”
Hemsworth also said his Orion Pax will “reveal a side of this character that audiences haven’t seen before,” and Hemsworth paid tribute to Cullen.
The plot follows Orion Pax and D-16 as “brother-in-arms” with Henry adding the origin story is “like nothing you’ve ever seen on the big screen before,” and said, “This origin story is how they transformed from brothers in arms to sworn enemies.”
Transformers One gets released Sept. 13 directed by Josh Cooley who is known for Toy Story 4 from a script by Andrew Barrer and Gabriel Ferrari.
