Similar to the first season, the second season of The Flash features an enigmatic villain whose true identity is yet to be revealed with Zoom.
There are a lot of theories out there, with some fans thinking Zoom might be the Earth-2 version of Barry Allen.
I donāt think itās going to be Evil Barry. But I was pitching that idea really early on, like, āHow fun would that be, itād be so cool!ā I just selfishly wanted to play the villain. I didnāt even know who it was until last night, actually. I hadnāt asked. I asked way more questions last year. Jesse [L. Martin] likes to know as little as possible and Iām kind of taking that route this yea, so Iām surprised when I see the scripts and surprised when I do it. I hadnāt asked who Zoom was. I didnāt want to know, but [Greg] Berlanti called me last night to catch up and talk about the episodes and that came up and he broke down that whole story for me and how itās going to evolve and whatās going to happen. So I do know now. Obviously, Iām not going to tell you! [Laughs] There are so many twists and turns involved with it and so many charactersā arcs that are connected to it. I said it about Thawne last year. Even if you think you know, thereās going to be some part of it that no one is going to guess exactly what the reveal is.
Regarding my thoughts on the identity of Zoom, Iāll just say I think itās a former speedster and leave it at thatā¦
