Similar to the first season, the second season of The Flash features an enigmatic villain whose true identity is yet to be revealed with Zoom.
There are a lot of theories out there, with some fans thinking Zoom might be the Earth-2 version of Barry Allen.
I donât think itâs going to be Evil Barry. But I was pitching that idea really early on, like, âHow fun would that be, itâd be so cool!â I just selfishly wanted to play the villain. I didnât even know who it was until last night, actually. I hadnât asked. I asked way more questions last year. Jesse [L. Martin] likes to know as little as possible and Iâm kind of taking that route this yea, so Iâm surprised when I see the scripts and surprised when I do it. I hadnât asked who Zoom was. I didnât want to know, but [Greg] Berlanti called me last night to catch up and talk about the episodes and that came up and he broke down that whole story for me and how itâs going to evolve and whatâs going to happen. So I do know now. Obviously, Iâm not going to tell you! [Laughs] There are so many twists and turns involved with it and so many charactersâ arcs that are connected to it. I said it about Thawne last year. Even if you think you know, thereâs going to be some part of it that no one is going to guess exactly what the reveal is.
Regarding my thoughts on the identity of Zoom, Iâll just say I think itâs a former speedster and leave it at thatâŠ
