Zombieland 2 A Go

Sony Pictures has given the greenlight to Zombieland 2, the sequel to the 2009 movie.

Emma Stone, Woody Harrelson, Jesse Eisenberg, and Abigail Breslin will return for Zombieland 2 with original director Ruben Fleischer who re-teams with the writers from the first film, Deadpool‘s Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese.

A sequel has been in the works for years as the first Zombieland quickly became a cult favorite and brought in over $100 million at the box office on a $23.6 million budget.

Zombieland 2 is described as: through comic mayhem that stretches from the White House and through the heartland, the Zombie slayers must face off against many new kinds of zombies that have evolved since the first movie, as well as some new human survivors. But most of all, they have to face the growing pains of their own snarky, makeshift family.

The movie is slated to start filming Janaruy 2019 for its October 2019 release.

Ruben Fleischer is also directing the Tom Hardy Venom movie for Sony.
