It’s learned Wonder Woman 2 gets a new release date to avoid the new release date for Disney’s Star Wars: Episode IX.
Warner Bros. has moved Wonder Woman 2 up a month to November 1, 2019 from its previous date of December 13, 2019.
Star Wars: Episode IX is due out December 20, 2019, but initially had a May 2019 release. Disney pushed the release date back following J.J. Abrams replacing Colin Trevorrow.
The move on the part of Warner Bros. seems to be a smart one as it follows Marvel’s Thor: Ragnarok, which debuted this November to overwhelming success.
Movies that are being released November 2019 include James Bond 25 on November 8th, an untitled Fox Studios Marvel film on November 22nd, and Frozen 2 on November 27th.
Gal Gadot and Patty Jenkins will both be back for Wonder Woman 2, and look for Gal Gadot this week in Justice League.
The first Wonder Woman movie, released June 2, 2017, brought in over $821 million.
