A live-action Voltron movie is currently in the works from Universal Studios and Dreamworks.

Deadline reports the Voltron movie is being written by David Hayter, known for writing X-Men, X-Men 2, and Watchmen.

The Voltron movie is far from a done deal as it’s noted Universal inherited the project and will make a decision where to go once the script is complete.

Dreamworks also puts out the new animated Voltron series on Netflix, with Season 2 set to debut in January. Watch the latest trailer below.

Voltron follows the space explorers known as the Voltron Force who go out and seek the five robot lions that when formed together become the legendary Voltron, Defender of the Universe.
