Constantine Not Cancelled; Season 2 A Possibility

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:19263:]]

Constantine recently aired its season finale, and with it remains the question whether or not we’ll get to see a Season 2.

Seeing how Season 1 ended, I have to say we better get a Season 2, and that is not only to see more from Jim Corrigan and the Spectre, but also to see how Constantine will deal with what happened at the conclusion of the episode.

NBC didn’t order additional episodes past the initial thirteen, and they haven’t yet decided to greenlight Season 2.

Fans have been taking to social media with #SaveConstantine to voice their support.

Showrunner Daniel Cerone has also been vocal on Twitter as he regularly live-tweets the series and offers updates.

The latest tweets from Cerone offer that fans should watch Constantine where it’s available online and on-demand.

Cerone also says we might not find out if Constantine has a Season 2 until May as that is when the networks will decide their plans for next Fall.

Daniel Cerone also teased the fans by revealing they have additional season one scripts for episodes 14-16.

Angelica Celaya, who plays Zed in the series, stated in an interview that the episodes that didn’t get a chance to air will be pushed to Season 2.

Cerone also added that Constantine is an expensive show; stating it’s not cancelled as, again, they will pitch NBC new episodes come May.

You can watch episodes of Constantine on NBC, Hulu, Amazon and iTunes.

Jim Starlin Dreadstar TV Series On The Way

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:19262:]]

It’s reported that Dreadstar is coming to TV from Universal, Benderspink and creator Jim Starlin.

Variety reports Starlin will serve as both an executive producer on the Dreadstar TV series as well as a writer.

Starlin’s Dreadstar centers around the last survivor of the Milk Way, Vanth Dreadstar, who forms a motley cast of crewmates that get caught between two powerful evil empires, the Monarch and the Church of The Instrumentality.

“Jim Starlin’s cosmic space opera is a great read, and it’s time for Vanth Dreadstar to make his television debut,” Dawn Olmstead, exec VP of development at UCP, which is part of NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment stated.

“I consider ‘Dreadstar’ to be an extension of my family, so it took me a while to feel comfortable letting anyone else take care of this project,” Starlin said. “It has taken some time, but I know I’ve put my trust in the right team, and I’m excited to collaborate with Universal Cable Productions and Benderspink to bring ‘Dreadstar’s’ unique brand of chaos to television.”

It’s also again stated that a Dreadstar movie is being developed.

Jim Starlin published Dreadstar with Epic Comics back in 1982.

You can pick up the Dreadstar Omnibus on Amazon to catch up.

Jim Starlin’s Dreadstar is now available in the Omnibus format! The first and complete arc (made up of the first 12 issues) from Starlin’s epic saga is collected in one place! The pages in this new edition have been produced by digitally scanning from the original film! Also featuring the original covers and character art! Dreadstar features the adventures of Vanth Dreadstar and his crew! Dreadstar, the last survivor of the destroyed Milky Way Galaxy, found himself transported to the Empirical Galaxy! There, recruited by the sorcerer Syzygy Darklock, Dreadstar helped bring an end to a two-hundred-year-old war between the corrupt Monarchy and the fanatical Instrumentality. Containing close to 400 pages of story, art and more!

Kevin Michael Richardson is known for voicing characters in Family Guy, The Simpsons, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Teen Titans Go!, Ben 10 and lots more.

It probably should be noted that contrary to attempts made by the series’ executives, both James Gunn and the Guardians of the Galaxy movie have nothing to do with the series.

Watch: The Joker Revealed On Gotham

Last night on Gotham saw what may eventually be The Joker.

Above you can watch the clip from the episode where The Joker is revealed, with an obvious spoiler warning.

So is Jerome, fabulously played by Cameron Monaghan, the actual Joker?

Well, it turns out Gotham might be trolling us a little bit as executive producer Bruno Heller hints Jerome might more or less actually be the Joker’s father (at least, IMO).

From EOnline:

I can tell you this is a long game plan and a long story that we are telling here. What I can promise you is this is not a bait-and-switch. This is not someone who is just a character who is going to disappear. This is not a red herring. It’s the beginning of the story of how the Joker came to be, how the Joker was created, where he came from, who he is. Now, that doesn’t necessarily mean that Cameron Monaghan is the Joker. He might be. But like I say, this is a story that begins about seven or eight years before the actual Joker arrives on the scene in his fully-fledged persona. As we’re telling with all of these characters, the origin story of that villain begins Monday.

I want to reiterate for those fans who might think that we are playing games, this is not a game. This is not a trick. It’s the beginning of the Joker saga.

As we see, it’s stated this is the beginning of Joker and not necessarily the Joker.

No Green Lantern For John Diggle In Arrow

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:19202:]]

Bad news for fans of Arrow and David Ramsey that thought John Diggle might be a Green Lantern or even John Stewart.

Showrunner Marc Guggenheim responded to the notion that Diggle might become a Green Lantern following an interview where David Ramsey confirmed talks about it.

Guggenheim rains on everybody’s parade by saying it isn’t happening.

“It’s funny, I’ve spoken to David quite a bit about this issue, I know it keeps coming up,” Guggenheim told MTV. “I spoke to [writer] Geoff Johns at DC after that interview went viral. Basically, John Diggle is now a character in the comics… John Diggle is John Diggle. We’re not being coy and saying John Diggle is someone else, i.e. John Stewart. DC has other plans for that character. We love David, and we love the character of John Diggle that he’s created. We have really cool plans for him… they involve a wedding ring, but they don’t involve a power ring.”

While Diggle may not be a Green Lantern, Guggenheim does tease that current characters may become DC heroes.

“There are two characters who would probably fall into that category,” he said. “Were we to do it, they would be characters from the comics that you already know.”

Arrow airs Wednesdays on the CW.

FOX TV Adapting 215 Ink’s Enormous

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:19195:]]

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:19196:]]

20th Century Fox Television and New Regency Television are teaming up with producer Adrian Askarieh’s Prime Universe Films to embark on the development of an event-series based on the best-selling action/horror comic book Enormous from publisher 215 Ink and creators Tim Daniel and Mehdi Cheggour. (Enormous Vol.1 still available for order from Diamond – Previews code JAN151627)

Set in the near future, the comic book series finds the world suffering a planetary resource crisis when a vast ecological cataclysm spawns The Enormous, massive beasts unlike anything ever witnessed. Displaced from atop the food-chain, humankind struggles to stave off extinction, and a shattered society scrambles for refuge in the wake of the monstrous rampage.

Amid the ashes of Phoenix, Ariz., Ellen Grace, a former school teacher who lost everything and everyone she loved in the uprising, leads a search and rescue team into the ruins of the city in hopes of locating children orphaned by the cataclysm. But not all the remaining humans seek salvation, and in a world dominated by monsters, man is still the most dangerous animal of all.

Enormous debuted to critical praise in July 2014 and has achieved repeated release-day sellouts in its first six issues, with the first issue requiring a second printing. Strong secondary-market sales have driven interest in the series that continues to defy industry sales trends, with the final issue of the first arc outselling the initial offering.

Andrew Poltkin of New Regency Television and Adrian Askarieh of Prime Universe Films will serve as executive producers for the series. The search is on for a top show-runner.

Enormous originally debuted as an oversized one-shot graphic novella in 2012 and later served as the basis for a groundbreaking live-action short web film from Machinima (watch beow) – written by André Øvredal, director of “Trollhunter;” directed by Ben David Grabinski,  and produced by Askarieh’s Prime Universe Films, Pure Imagination Studios and Machinima.
