Robert Kirkman Missing Comic-Con; Wants Deadpool Trailer Leaked

Robert Kirkman will not be attending this week’s Comic-Con in San Diego.

Following not being able to attend the recent Image Expo last week, Kirkman let it be known he also won’t be at the SDCC due to throat surgery.

“Unfortunately, after years and years of being healthier than my physique would indicate I had to have minor surgery on my throat,” Kirkman posted on Skybound.com. “Nothing serious, but in the aftermath of such a fun experience, it comes with a brief duration of time where I’m unable to speak so all that pink business inside me can heal. As luck would have it, that period of time overlaps with Comic-Con.”

Two panels for The Walking Dead and Fear The Walking Dead are scheduled for this Friday at Comic-Con, and Kirkman was scheduled to attend Skybound panels as well.

Kirkman notes it will be his first time missing Comic-Con in ten years, but looks forward to next year and hopes to see the new Deadpool trailer in some  form.

“This is the first Comic-Con I’m missing in well over a decade. While I’m bummed that I can’t be there, there’s nothing keeping you from enjoying all the fun events… I plan on making my triumphant Comic-Con return next year, you’ve been warned. Until then I’ll just be catching up on work and eating a lot of ice cream. So go to a panel, buy an overpriced hotdog, and think of me when you’re buying Transformer toys. I wish you all a fun and safe Comic-Con. Someone please be sure to bootleg the Deadpool trailer for me!”

Watch: Fear The Walking Dead BHS Set Video

Watch a behind-the-scenes set video from Fear The Walking Dead featuring the cast and crew welcoming fans to LA and sharing what they’re looking forward to in the episodes to come.

Fear The Walking Dead premiers in August with the first season set in Los Angeles; a second season is also in development for 2016.

The series stars Kim Dickens, Cliff Curtis, Alycia Debnam-Carey, Elizabeth Rodriguez, Mercedes Mason and Rubén Blades.

Fear The Walking Dead will also be present at Comic-Con.

More Ash Vs. Evil Dead Images

Following a first look at Bruce Campell as Ash for the Starz Ash Vs. Evil Dead TV series, two more images have been released including Ash with his iconic chainsaw and shotgun.

“Sam’s original Delta is back,” says Campbell. “I’m talking the ‘73 Delta 88. The Classic is back! I’ve driven it. I did a William Shatner power-slide in that car. That’s the only spoiler I’m gonna give you: that Ash and that car — we can power-slide. I met William Shatner on the convention circuit, and I talked aboutT.J. Hooker. He talked to me about how he power-slides those cars in T.J. Hooker. So I took Shatner’s advice, and I used that advice to do a T.J. Hookercombo-platter — with the Classic — power-slide.”

 “There’s going to be a lot of the classic, over-the-top, in-your-face fullness, with a pretty trash-talking Ash,” says the star. “In a TV series, people gotta talk, so Ash will have more dialogue than he’s pretty much ever had. There’s a pretty high count of Ash’s classic one-liners. They’re back, and they’re strong, and they’re flourishing!”

Ash Vs Evil Dead premiers with ten episodes in the Fall also starring Ray Santiago and Dana Delorenzo, and the show will be featured Friday, July 10th at Comic-Con.

Synopsis:

Campbell will be reprising his role as Ash, the stock boy, aging lothario and chainsaw-handed monster hunter who has spent the last 30 years avoiding responsibility, maturity and the terrors of the Evil Dead. When a Deadite plague threatens to destroy all of mankind, Ash is finally forced to face his demons –personal and literal. Destiny, it turns out, has no plans to release the unlikely hero from its “Evil” grip.

First Look At Daredevil Season 2 Set Images

Marvel has officially begun filming on Daredevil Season 2, and the first set images have hit the net.

Daredevil Season 2 will premiere on Netflix with 13 episodes starring Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock. The season will also feature Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle aka The Punisher.

New Guardians of the Galaxy Animated Series Poster & Premiere Date Announced

Disney XD had debuted a new poster for the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy animated series as well as announcing the premiere date and sneak peeks.

The firt episode will debut on Saturday, September 27th, but a sneak peek of the first episode will be released on September 5th at 9pm.

In addition, Disney has announced ten 10-minute character shorts:

• Aug. 1: Star Lord, Part 1 (8:58 pm) and Part 2 (10:28 pm)

• Aug. 8: Groot, Part 1 (8:58 pm) and Part 2 (9:58 pm)

• Aug. 15: Rocket Raccoon, Part 1 (8:58 pm) and Part 2 (9:58 pm)

•Aug. 22: Drax, Part 1 (8:58 pm) and Part 2 (9:58 pm)

• Aug. 29: Gamora, Part 1 (8:58 pm) and Part 2 (9:58 pm)

The Guardians of the Galaxy animated series features the voice talents of: Will Friedle as Star-Lord, Kevin Michael as Groot, Vanessa Marshall as voice Gamora, David Sobolov as Drax and Trevor Devall as Rocket Raccoon.

Watch: Netflix A Series of Unfortunate Events Teaser Trailer

First announced back in November, Netflix is adapting the children’s books, A Series of Unfortunate Events, as an original series.

Now a teaser trailer has been released and can be watched above.

A movie was released back in 2004 starring Jim Carrey, which wasn’t that well received, but the good news is that series creator Daniel Handler (Lemony Snicket) is more involved with the Netflix series.

“After years of providing top-quality entertainment on demand, Netflix is risking its reputation and its success by associating itself with my dismaying and upsetting books,” Handler stated in a previous press release.

Casting and a premiere date are yet to be announced.

Watch: Dragon Ball Super Episode 1 (English Subbed)

The new Dragon Ball Super TV series debuted in Japan earlier today and video of the first episode has been uploaded online with English subtitles.

If need be, click the “CC” button in the above video and choose “English.”

Dragon Ball Super is set a few years after the defeat of Majin Buu, when the Earth has become peaceful once again, and has been said to feature foes more powerful than both Frieza and Buu.

The latest Dragon Ball movie, “Resurrection F,” gets released in the U.S. this August.

Following the Heroes Reborn trailer from last week, a batch of character motion posters has been released.

Heroes Reborn will be featured at this week’s Comic-Con, and premiers on NBC September 24th.

Synopsis:

“A year ago, a terrorist attack in Odessa, Texas, left the city decimated. Blamed for the tragic event, those with extraordinary abilities are in hiding or on the run from those with nefarious motives. Two such vigilantes include Luke (Zachary Levi, “Chuck”) and Joanne (Judith Shekoni, “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2”), who are seeking to avenge a tragic loss.

Noah Bennet, aka H.R.G. (Jack Coleman, “Heroes”), has gone off the grid but conspiracy theorist Quentin Frady (Henry Zebrowski, “A to Z”) finds him and opens his eyes to the truth behind the Odessa tragedy. While in hiding, some are discovering their newfound skills. Awkward teen Tommy (Robbie Kay, “Once Upon a Time”) just wants to be normal and win the girl of his dreams, Emily (Gatlin Green, “Criminal Minds”), but normalcy is virtually impossible after learning of a new ability that terrifies him. Coming from a very sheltered upbringing, a bold and ethereal teenager, Malina (Danika Yarosh, “Shameless”), has been told she is destined for greatness. Are you looking forward to Comic-Con?

Very much. Comic-Con is so legendary, so a great thrill to be invited along.

You told me last year that, as a child, you were always more intrigued than frightened by Doctor Who. But are you nervous at all about appearing in front of 7,000 people at the Doctor Who panel?

Very nervous. Don’t think I’ver ever stood in front of 7,000 people in my life. But if 7,000 people want to see us, it would be rude not to turn up.

If you were going to walk the Comic-Con floor disguised as a monster from Doctor Who, or as anything or anyone else, what or who would it be?

A white walker from Game of Thrones. Or, fromDoctor Who, a menoptra.

Could you tease the two-part premiere?

It places the Doctor in a conflict that is central to his being, as well as containning some subtle tributes to the ’60s, and truly wonderful guest performances.

What can you tell us about the exclusive photograph from the premiere (see above)?

The photo shows the Doctor about to make a mistake that has cataclysmic repercussions.

How is the Doctor different this season from last?

He’s throwing himself into life with a newfound hunger for adventure. He’s in pursuit of joy and grabbing every thrill that he can along the way. But I sense him running from something, that even he does not yet understand.

Tell us about the villains and monsters the Doctor will be encountering this season?

There is an epic sweep to this season and I think the villains and monsters reflect that. Great new ones, brilliant old ones, and some very scary creatures looming in stories with real emotional ambition.

And Missy?

In the hands of Michelle Gomez, Missy is more magnificently bad than ever before.

Maisie Williams is one of the new season’s guest stars. How was working with her?

Maisie is fantastic. A sharp, talented tornado. As an 18-year-old, she has taught me many new words and expressions. All I’ll say about her character is she shifts in cosmic ways.

How would you describe the relationship between your Doctor and Jenna Coleman’s Clara this season?

They’ve suddenly realized that they are the most fortunate people in all of time and space and are hellbent on adventure. Jenna continutes to deliver a beautifully nuanced, complex, and funny performance that marks her out as one of the best companions ever.

First Look At Bruce Campbell In Ash Vs. Evil Dead TV Series

Check out a first look above at Bruce Campbell as Ash from the upcoming Starz Ash Vs. Evil Dead TV series.

EW.com debuted the image asking Campbell and Sam Raimi what Ash has been up to since the 22 years we last seen him.

“Not much!” Campbell offered. “He was perfectly happy doing basically nothing: telling lies about how he lost his hand in bars late at night. That was basically his MO. So, he’s not really the guy who should be dealing with this right now. But…he is. He’s our guy!”

“He’s the only one stupid enough to really tamper with those spirits,” Sam Raimi added, who returned to direct the first episode of the new series. “And he does. But he’s also still a really good monster fighter. So, he’s also going to be kicking some deadite buttocks, if you’ll pardon the French.”

“It’s The Searchers with carnage and mayhem,” Campbell said. “I’m relegated a little bit into the John Wayne mode these days with my team—the young, virile, evil fighters who will pair up with Ash and take on this nemesis: this never ending, ever evolving nemesis.”

Ash Vs Evil Dead premiers with ten episodes in the Fall also starring Ray Santiago and Dana Delorenzo, and the show will be featured Friday, July 10th at Comic-Con.

Synopsis:

Campbell will be reprising his role as Ash, the stock boy, aging lothario and chainsaw-handed monster hunter who has spent the last 30 years avoiding responsibility, maturity and the terrors of the Evil Dead. When a Deadite plague threatens to destroy all of mankind, Ash is finally forced to face his demons –personal and literal. Destiny, it turns out, has no plans to release the unlikely hero from its “Evil” grip.

Jon Bernthal has returned to the comic shop to pick up even more Punisher comics.

Bernthal is playing Frank Castle, aka The Punisher, for Daredevil Season 2.

Recent details mentioned that Season 2 will feature “Daredevil vs. Punisher,” but that Bernthal won’t be a straight-up villain.

The comic shop Jon Bernthal has been visiting is Hypno Comics, located in Ventura, California.

Daredevil Season 2 is due out on Netflix in 2016.

Watch: Fear the Walking Dead Trailer “Missing Posters”

AMC has released another new promo trailer for Fear The Walking Dead with “Missing Posters.”

Fear The Walking Dead premiers in August with the first season set in Los Angeles; a second season is also in the works for 2016.

The series stars Kim Dickens, Cliff Curtis, Alycia Debnam-Carey, Elizabeth Rodriguez, Mercedes Mason and Rubén Blades.

Fear The Walking Dead will also be present at next month’s Comic-Con.

Daredevil Vs. Punisher For Season 2

With Batman Vs. Superman and Captain America: Civil War hitting the big screen next year, it’s learned hero will be fighting hero in Daredevil Season 2 as well.

Deadline reports with the casting of Jon Bernthal as The Punisher, word from within Marvel is that the second season of Daredevil is being described by showrunner Marco Ramirez as “Daredevil vs. The Punisher.”

It’s reported that Daredevil and The Punisher are more at odds over their personal philosophies for handing out justice, rather than The Punisher being a straight-up villain for Season 2.

It’s said due to the events at the end of Daredevil Season 1, a power vacuum has occurred leaving Hell’s Kitchen open for a vigilante killing spree i.e. by The Punisher.

In addition to The Punisher being featured as sort of a “bad” guy, both Elektra and Bullseye are speculated for Daredevil Season 2 as well.

Taking one step further, we can speculated Daredevil may eventually team with The Punisher, perhaps to take on Elektra, Bullseye or both.

Daredevil Season 2 is slated for a 2016 release on Netflix.

Secret Warriors Coming To Agents OF SHIELD Season 3

Marvel has confirmed a version of the Secret Warriors is coming to Agents Of SHIELD Season 3.

Following an interview with Clark Gregg mentioning the Secret Warriors (watch below), Marvel.com has released a teaser image and confirmation of Secret Warriors, as well as announcing a Secret Warriors promotion at Comic-Con.

“Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” returns for a powerful third season introducing new friends and foes inspired by the critically acclaimed SECRET WARRIORS comic series. In the aftermath of S.H.I.E.L.D.’s battle with Jiaying and the Inhumans, Director Coulson will search the world for more powered people and assemble an extraordinary new team to deal with threats unlike the world has ever seen. However, the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. will soon find out they’re not the only ones tracking down these new Inhumans.

Coulson and S.H.I.E.L.D. are already searching for new recruits, and at San Diego Comic-Con ABC and “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” are giving fans a chance to be part of the initiative. From Thursday, July 9 through Saturday, July 11, S.H.I.E.L.D. ambassadors will be searching the convention for the most dedicated fans and rewarding them with limited edition “Secret Warriors” pins. SyFy Announces Face Off Season 9

Fresh off of being named the Best Reality Competition Series by the Broadcast Television Journalists Association, Syfy’s hit reality competition series Face Off – the network’s most watched unscripted series – will return on Tuesday, July 28 at 9PM for an exciting ninth season consisting of fourteen all-new episodes. 

Season 9 begins with a cosmic bang as sixteen new talented artists work in teams of two to construct original alien animals that incorporate two models into one massive creation.  This difficult task of fashioning the largest creatures ever seen on Face Off proves to be eye opening and taxing for multiple contestants, and a surprise announcement from the judges keeps everyone on edge.

And on Tuesday, August 11 at 9PM, Face Off will celebrate its 100th episode in style, as the artists turn real-life engaged couples into whimsically undead duos.  Following the challenge, host McKenzie Westmore, recently an ordained minister, will marry the couples as they say their vows in front of friends and family.

Face Off is a competition/elimination series exploring the world of special-effects make-up artists and the unlimited imagination that allows them to create amazing works of living art. As a member of the multi-generational family dynasty whose name is synonymous with the make-up effects field, actress McKenzie Westmore brings expertise to her role as host of the series.  Some of SFX world’s most celebrated figures judge the competition – multiple Academy Award-winner Ve Neill (The Hunger Games, Pirates of the Caribbean), industry veteran Glenn Hetrick (CSI: New York, Heroes, Legion), and creature designer Neville Page (Avatar, Prometheus). NBC released a new trailer for Heroes Reborn with “The Extraordinary Among Us.”

This fall, a new era will dawn as ordinary people among us discover they’re extraordinary. Heroes Reborn premieres Thursday, September 24 on NBC at 8/7c.

Synopsis:

“A year ago, a terrorist attack in Odessa, Texas, left the city decimated. Blamed for the tragic event, those with extraordinary abilities are in hiding or on the run from those with nefarious motives. Two such vigilantes include Luke (Zachary Levi, “Chuck”) and Joanne (Judith Shekoni, “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2”), who are seeking to avenge a tragic loss.

Noah Bennet, aka H.R.G. The Flash Season 2 & Arrow Season 4 Premiere Date Announced

The CW has announced the premiere dates for both The Flash Season 2 and Arrow Season 4.

The Flash premiers Tuesday, October 6th, with Arrow debuting Wednesday, October 7th.

Until recently, 25-year-old Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) lived a normal life as a perpetually tardy C.S.I. in the Central City Police department.  Barry is secretly in love with his best friend, Iris West (Candice Patton), daughter of Barry’s surrogate father, Detective Joe West (Jesse L. Martin).  Joe adopted Barry fourteen years ago after Barry’s mother was murdered and Barry’s father, Henry Allen, received a life sentence for the crime – though Barry maintains that a mysterious “Man in Yellow” was responsible.  Nine months ago, the S.T.A.R. Labs Particle Accelerator exploded, creating a dark matter lightning storm that struck Barry – bestowing him with super-speed and making him the fastest man alive.  But Barry wasn’t the only person who was given extraordinary abilities that night.  The dark matter also created meta-humans, many of whom have wreaked havoc on the city. 

With the help of his new scientist friends at S.T.A.R Labs, Caitlin Snow (Danielle Panabaker), Cisco Ramon (Carlos Valdes), and Dr. Harrison Wells (Tom Cavanaugh), Barry begins a journey as The Flash to protect the people of Central City from these powerful new threats.  However, Barry’s mission gets sidetracked when he comes face to face with the Man in Yellow.  Barry isn’t fast enough to catch him bu in a shocking revelation the team figures out their beloved mentor, Harrison Wells, is in fact the Man in Yellow and the man responsible for killing Barry’s mother.  Harrison Wells reveals his true identity as Eobard Thawne, a man from the future who traveled back in time to kill Barry.
